I nearly forgot to mention this. I was directed to the Huffington Post the other day when I followed a link to something Jack Levison wrote about Advent. To my utter amazement his first words were, “

Like the Parson’s Patch on Facebook. Facebook sent this to me. Then it gave me two options: Like Page orView Page.

“Like or dislike” I would have understood.

“View or ignore,” too.

But “like or view?” I cocked my head, furrowed my brow, and puzzled. Is this what my life — your life, as well — has come to? Liking something without

Jack Liked

This leads me to my next point about Jack Levison. In a few weeks I will be posting an interview with Jack about his new book Fresh Air: The Holy Spirit for an Inspired Life. I cannot speak highly enough of this book. Especially for those who are or once were Pentecostal or Charismatic Christians. Jack does a great job of presenting a biblical theology of the spirit in a  narrative fashion. None of this getting bogged down in this passage or that or getting stuck on word meanings. One gets the feeling that Jack has been writing this book his entire life!  If you don’t believe me, take Eugene’s word for it!
